The export value of textile and garments in China reached US$12.64 billion last month, up 89.3% from the same month of last year but down 18.8% month on month, according to the latest statistics from China's General Administration of Customs.
The export value of textile products was US$4.57 billion in February, up 78.2% year on year but down 18.2% month on month.
The value of garment exports was US$8.07 billion, up 96.3% from a year ago but down 19.2% from January.
In the first two months of this year, the country's exports of textile and garments increased 29.0% year on year to US$28.24 billion in total.
Analysts estimated that the exports of textile and garments in the first half of this year will be more than those in the second half, due to relatively low base figure in the first half of 2009, a possible appreciation of RMB and higher labor costs. |
